The event brings Government representatives, business leaders, halal industry players, entrepreneurs, scholars and stakeholders from all over the world to Kuala Lumpur, with the common aspiration of further accelerating global halal industry growth. This conference has in the past provided an ideal platform for intellectual discourse on issues pivotal to the halal industry development and has inspired wealth creation through novel findings and innovation.

WHC2015, organized by Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) will be held on the 1st and 2nd April 2015. More than 800 participants including foreign delegates from over 50 countries worldwide are expected to participate.

Themed, “Halal Economy – A Profitable Convergence”, it reflects upon the need for a renewed global effort amongst halal stakeholders to further strengthen the integration of industries within the halal eco-system towards the realisation of a holistic halal economy. More emphasis must be placed upon areas which include R&D, innovation, human capital development, Islamic Banking and Finance to develop a seamless point-to-point halal supply chain. In this instance, Islamic asset based/backed banking instruments must support the financing of the Halal industry in the effort to realize true convergence of Islamic principles throughout the industry.

The two-day event will feature a main conference with a Ministerial Roundtable Session, Global Leaders Panel Session and concurrent plenary sessions on specific components within the halal eco-system emerging areas, such as halal vaccine and halal nutraceuticals.

Business Networking Galleria by WHC collaborating partners and The Halal Excellence Award will also be featured.  

With Malaysia assuming 2015 chairmanship of ASEAN, a dedicated session on Asean Economic Development in relation to halal has also been included. The approximately 600 million Muslim consumers market in the region certainly present a host of opportunity for halal producers and service providers.
