Third Party Event

27 Sep 2017 - 29 Sep 2017

Previously a biennial event, PowerTrends went annual beginning 2016 against the backdrop of escalating energy demand, the challenge to cut down carbon dioxide emission and significant global developments.

Incorporated with PowerTrends are Energy Expo 2017 and Electech/Lightech 2017.

PowerTrends 2017 focuses on power generation, transmission, distribution and management.

Energy Expo 2017 emphasises renewable energy, natural gas/LNG, oil and gas exploration, coal mining and processing and nuclear energy.

Electech/Lightech 2017 focuses on digital directions on electricity, energy efficiency, electrical technologies and lighting.

First organised in 1995 with the Department of Energy and the National Power Corporation, PowerTrends is the longest-running international energy event in the Philippines.

As it has in the past, PowerTrends will attract senior officials of private and government energy-related companies, investors and representatives of financial institutions. The occasion provides a platform for close interaction among energy players and government authorities.

The last PowerTrends series held September 21-23, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center presented products of international energy players from 16 countries, prominently led by the National Pavilion of Germany. One special feature of last year’s Powertrends was the roll out of the access to sustainable energy programme.

Please refer to the event website for more information.

A historic Year for Powertrends.

2017 is an historic year for ASEAN. On the 50th year of its founding, the 35th ASEAN Ministers of Energy Meeting (AMEM) will be held September 20-22, 2017, in Manila. In parallel, the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF), the high level-conference of the private sector involved in energy and senior energy officials of ASEAN is being organised to be incorporated with Powertrends.

The theme of the conference is “Regional Energy Security, Sustainability and Resilience.”

These will be three days of sharing market information, knowledge and business opportunities and the opportunity for networking with the ASEAN energy family in this year’s Powertrends series.

Powertrends will be visited by the ministers of energy of the ASEAN member countries, their senior officials of energy and accompanying business groups.
