A brief introduction of the visit to Kenya by the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China

The Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce of China will visit Kenya from October 17 to October 20, 2019 to carry out investment promotion-related activities, including implementing the “Belt and Road Initiative”, promoting the “Eight Major Initiatives”of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promoting cooperation with Kenya’s industrial parks and industries, enabling enterprises to better understand the investment environment of Kenya, and promoting high-quality projects and cooperation between Chinese enterprises and Kenya’s institutions and enterprises.
In Kenya, the delegation shall visit the Kenya Investment Authority to discuss investment policies and promote industrial park cooperation. In collaboration with the Department of Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce of China, the delegation shall organize a Kenya Investment Environment Promotion Conference that will bring together Chinese enterprises to learn about Kenya’s investment environment and investment projects, and match potential areas of collaboration.

More than 80 people representing close to 50 Chinese institutions and enterprises shall participate in the investment trip to Kenya, including government agencies, law firms, telecommunications companies, media companies, investment institutions, financial institutions, construction companies and wood products processing enterprises.
