Insurance markets in the Middle East continue to experience a period of significant change as leading industry players implement re-tooled strategies to tap into the enormous growth potential that the region offers. While the regional insurance markets remain under-developed relative to international norms, experts project exciting growth rates of anywhere between 20% to 30% over the next few years – and the leading industry players are now looking to translate this huge growth potential into reality. However, even with the rapid expansion of the industry, the liberalisation of markets and the entrance of many of the major international players, current growth levels have only scratched the surface of the potential in the Middle East. The region also has a number of key challenges to tackle if this growth potential is to be fully realised, as building scale and competitiveness will be critical success factors for positively transforming the regional insurance markets.

Now in its 8th year, the Middle East Insurance Forum (MEIF 2012) is the region’s largest and most significant annual platform for the international and regional insurance industry to assess the potential and seize new growth opportunities in the dynamic Middle East insurance markets. Hosted in strategic partnership with the Central Bank of Bahrain and with the support of the Bahrain Insurance Association, MEIF 2012 will take place on the 7th and 8th of February 2012 at the Gulf Hotel, Kingdom of Bahrain, under the patronage of HE The Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain.

More than 400 delegates, representing decision-makers from Arab and international insurance and reinsurance companies, regulatory agencies, brokers, banking and finance organisations, will participate in the Forum. An international panel of expert speakers will tackle the challenge of unlocking new growth opportunities in the regional insurance markets. Key topics that will be discussed at MEIF 2012 include:

· Regulators & Industry Leaders Insights: Supporting the Positive Transformation
of the Insurance Industry in the Middle East

· Assessing New International Insurance Trends and Their Impact on Middle East Markets

· Market Growth Catalysts: Which Business Lines Will Drive the Industry Forward?
Which Countries Offer the Most Exciting Growth Potential and How Best Can This be Tapped?

· Product Development & Underwriting Trends in the Middle East

· Effectively Building Stronger Reinsurance Capabilities in the Middle East

· Assessing the Future Outlook for the Takaful and Re-Takaful Industry: Poised for Growth?

The 8th Annual Middle East Insurance Forum is where the market leaders will gather to chart the key trends and capitalise on new opportunities that will shape the direction of the regional insurance industry.
