Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda is reshaping urban development through a stronger focus on liveability, inclusion and quality of life. In Madinah, the region’s humanisation programme is translating these priorities into coordinated, people-centred urban transformation.
This report, produced in partnership with Al Madinah Region Development Authority (MDA), examines how humanisation is being implemented across the city through integrated planning, mobility upgrades, public realm enhancements and heritage preservation. It assesses progress in creating more accessible, walkable and environmentally responsive urban spaces, supported by data-driven governance and community engagement.
The publication, which includes a case study with ALMQR Development Company, also explores how these interventions are strengthening social well-being, enhancing the visitor experience and supporting economic diversification. By aligning infrastructure, services and cultural assets, Madinah is advancing a model of urban development that reinforces competitiveness, resilience and long-term growth.
