After a long period as one of the least socio-economically developed states in Mexico, the administration of Hidalgo’s governor, Omar Fayad, issued a series of policies designed to reinvigorate growth and transform economic activity. By enhancing its public-private collaborative framework to facilitate investment and target strategic sectors with significant potential, the state has reinvigorated growth and made its business environment more competitive. Despite the negative impacts of Covid-19 on Latin America and Mexico in particular, Hidalgo’s solid fundamentals and proactive policies are helping it to recover and rebuild in the post-pandemic era.
