Since its creation by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), in 1954, the biannual event PERUMIN Mining Convention aims at strengthening the specialized professional development of the attendants and to spread new knowledge that is the result of research, innovation and application of technology in mining operations. In the same manner, it contributes to spread the importance of the mining sector for the development of the country.
In this 33 edition, the goal was not only to show the latest mining technology and provide effective solutions to the main problems the Peruvian mining sector faces, but also to stress the message that mining is not only about moving capitals and machinery, but about fostering development, since it has an integrating power that engages other productive and service activities, adding value and creating fair employment. Each of the academic and business meetings and high-level lecturers was designed to enable a dialogue, reflection, opinion exchange and an enriching debate that made this Mining Convention in Arequipa the best opportunity for synergies in the global mining sector.
For the first time, they presented the Mining Business Summit, an opportunity where important authorities, businessmen and experts will actively discuss the most important topics of the national and international mining agenda; in addition, the current situation of the industry, markets, projects and surrounding were analyzed. All of this with a view into the future and focusing on the challenge of being competitive and sustainable.
