The Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF), inaugurated in 2000 AD, has become a leading hub for economists and businessmen from around the globe. Known as the “Davos of the Middle East”, it is one of the most important global events in Saudi Arabia.

The Forum, proudly organised by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is an international platform for discussions and the exchange of ideas among leading decision makers which include, heads of states, politicians, businessmen, and public figures- Annually, the delegates, representing over 60 countries across six continents, convene to address key issues facing our world today.

The Forum takes place in the commercial city of Jeddah – the gateway for trade and industry in the Arab world. Its strategic venue continues to serve the purpose of fostering strong and productive partnerships as well as to contribute directly and indirectly to the addressing regional and global issues.

The Forum is a recipient of the Makkah Award for Excellence, 2013. This prestigious award was the collaborative effort/ culmination of the leadership of HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah, the astute guidance of HRH Prince Mishaal bin Majed, the Mayor of Jeddah, and the diligent teamwork at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Jeddah Economic Forum is a realisation of the nation’s aspirations and drive to excel and succeed.

For this year, GCC member countries’ national visions have emphasized the need for economic diversification and increased labor force participation of young nationals, and investment in the region’s Youth to unlock the potential of both the private sector and the next generation of professionals which is a policy priority for governments.

This year’s Jeddah Economic Forum will explore ‘Growth through Youth’, addressing the challenges and opportunities surrounding sustainable job creation for young people, with the objective of facilitating regional growth through strategic and long-term investment in job creation across two key growth sectors: Tourism, and Transportation Infrastructure.
