GENERAL INFORMATION

Visitors from most countries do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days on holiday or 30 days on business. Travellers are recommended to travel with a printed return ticket and the address for their stay. Visitors can apply for a visa extension up to six months.

The country has two mobile network operators: Bmobile and Digicel. SIM cards can be purchased at the airport after passing through immigration control, and data plans can be activated from the device. Wi-Fi connections are also widely available.

Authorised taxis are available at the airport and at major hotels. They can be recognised by the letter “H” appearing as the first symbol on the licence plate. It is advisable to get the number of a taxi driver or hotel reception as authorised taxis are not easily available.

There have been a few Zika virus cases recently. The Ministry of Health advises to take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of Zika, including the use of mosquito repellents. The country has modern private hospitals and a network of public hospitals.
