Dear Oxford Business Group Subscribers,

4th QS-MAPLE next week in Abu Dhabi

We are glad to announce that one of the biggest higher education events in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the 4th QS-MAPLE conference and exhibition, will take place in one week in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. With the theme of “global challenges and opportunities in higher education”, Middle East and North Africa Professional Leaders in Education – QS-MAPLE – offers an ideal platform for actively engaged university leaders as well as mid-level academics to take part in constructive debates on the internationalisation of students, faculty and the curriculum.

This conference will be held on May 6–8, 2014 at Dusit Thani Hotel, Abu Dhabi and will convene more than 300 delegates from across the globe. We highly recommend all higher education enthusiasts to register for this conference and enjoy the wealth of information provided by their own peers.

It is worth noting that 4th QS-MAPLE will unravel QS’s newest regional rankings system devised for the Arab world—QS University Rankings: Arab World. Participants at the conference will have the opportunity to attend the rankings session and determine the weight of criteria that will form the rankings, together with experts from the QS Intelligence Unit.

On another delightful note, 4th QS-MAPLE will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak, Minister of Higher Education of United Arab Emirates for the—first time in QS-MAPLE history.

The event comprises of

  • Parallel and plenary sessions—featuring general and specific aspects of international higher education with keynote addresses by leading authorities on higher education;
  • QS Squared Debate—an exciting, interactive engagement of the academia for the better understanding of higher education concepts;
  • QS Hub – Exhibition—where leading universities and other higher education institutions from around the world showcase their institutions and programs; and
  • Creative Awards—for best international education promotional designs in four categories.

In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking at the icebreaking reception, conference dinner and closing lunch.
