With pressure to deliver projects in a timely fashion and a desire to spread risk, the PPP/PFI model is becoming increasingly popular in the region. In the Middle East, governments are increasingly embracing partnerships with the private sector in a bid to achieve their key strategies.

Focusing on transportation, infrastructure, social infrastructure, water and power, PPP Middle East provides delegates the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into current and future PPP projects in the region.

Tuesday 11th January features a number of keynote presentations and case studies, outlining plans for investment, estimated timelines and highlighting best practise experience. Sessions include; “Adopting the PPP model for road projects” by Eng. Faisal Al Suwaidi, General Director for Main Roads, Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi and “A global overview of PPP development in infrastructure  by  Dr. Paul Noumba Um, Lead Economist, Sustainable Development Department - MENA Region, World Bank.

Day two of the conference offers delegates the chance to interact with the speakers in the panel discussions.  Rather than the traditional presentations, key issues are discussed in a more informal setting to maximise the exchange of information. “Progressing frameworks to support regional PPP development”, chaired by Rania Zayed of the Central PPP Unit, Egypt, is one of three panel discussions taking place on Wednesday 12th January.
