Third Party Event

18 Jun 2019

impact Investing Gh (II-Gh) will convene Ghana’s top Business, Finance, Communication, CSR, Philanthropy, Development and Policy leaders for this informal event to introduce the guiding principles of Impact Investment, invite them to join as strategic partners to unleash the power of impact & profit combined and be an integral part of this exciting ecosystem.

Impact Investment is a truly global movement and invited guests will get a short overview of practical ways that they, as stakeholders and thought-leaders, can adopt these principles today. It’s an innovative mindset change that will deliver the win-win approach to Ghana’s Development: Profit + Purpose =  Impact

Achieving Ghana’s social and environmental goals requires the deliberate catalyzing of impact investing to address unmet societal needs.

Following Accra’s “IMPACT Dialogue 2018”, a national Taskforce, with Interim Chair Hon. Minister of Finance Ken Ofori Atta, was assembled by a team of private sector investment and entrepreneurship ecosystem enablers to deliver a National Advisory Board For Impact Investment (Impact Investing Ghana – II-Gh). The objective of II-Gh is to steer Ghana and the Region towards a new Risk-Reward-Impact investment and development paradigm, drawing from the global Impact Investment movement led by the Global Steering Group on Impact Investment (GSG). GSG was founded in 2015 and currently has 21 member countries. Ghana, through II-GH, is on track to become the 1st member from Sub-Saharan Africa (outside of South Africa) to set up a National Advisory Board for Impact Investing and attain membership status of the GSG.
