27 Feb 2013

Oxford Business Group is pleased to announce its media partnership with the Global Financial Markets Forum which will be held on 27 – 28 February, in Abu Dhabi. In this respect we send you the following message from the conference organisers:

Dear Oxford Business Group Subscribers,

Global Financial Markets Forum (GFMF), the annual conference on economic and market conditions, is organized by the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD).

Every year, GFMF draws hundreds of investors and economic observers to Abu Dhabi for a conversation about the state and direction of the world economy. It also provides them the opportunity to learn about the most up-to-date tools available to investors. GFMF is recognized as a medium for investors and financial thinkers to converse about the latest critical issues of the day in one of the most important emerging regions of the world.

This year, the Forum, which will commence on February 27 and concludes on February 28, 2013 at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, will discuss and analyse the most critical current issues, including post Arab Spring Fundamentals, European financial crisis and the future of European Union, and the US economy. In addition, there will be focused discussions by CEOs and board of directors.

Every year, the GFMF brings to Abu Dhabi leading minds of global finance to speak and participate in panel discussions. This year we are pleased to present experienced policy-makers and central bankers from across the MENA region.

Keynote speakers include David Milliband, British Shadow Foreign Secretary and former Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs; and James A. Baker III, former US Secretary of Treasury and State.

The GFMF also confirms Abu Dhabi’s and the region’s rising influence. The Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) global impact is now beyond a major supplier of fossil fuel; the region is a significant player in the world economics as a hub of finance, a tourist destination, large consumer market and increasingly in manufacturing.

Already in works, Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision is transferring Abu Dhabi to a world- class hub of culture and commerce. NBAD is committed to supporting Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and is the Emirate’s partner in this endeavor.
