Third Party Event

05 Sep 2016 - 06 Sep 2016

Future Interiors Qatar 2016 has been designed to showcase the latest interior design projects and opportunities for fit-outs in Qatar. With the construction of eight stadiums in Qatar ahead of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup well underway, millions of dollars in investment will be spent on designing and constructing commercial, retail, residential, hospitality and transportation to cater for the influx of tourists into Qatar.

The following topics will be addressed at the event:

  • The first stage of the Doha metro project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in 2019. The second phase of the project will be completed in 2026.  Mohamed Timbely from Qatar Rail will be addressing the subject of interior design of Doha’s metro stations at the event. The stations will reflect the heritage of the country.
  • The Msheireb Downtown Regeneration Project will be completed in four phases. The majority of construction works are completed through phases 1-3 and works are currently taking place as part of stage four to accommodate the Msheireb metro station – the largest metro station on the Doha network. The commercial retail and office space is primarily located in phases 1B-3 and will be available for tenant fit-out and installations. Sheikha Al Sulaiti, interior design manager at Msheireb Properties, will be delivering a session on this project.
  • Construction has begun on the Lusail stadium in Qatar, the sixth world cup stadium to be constructed. The stadium will be entirely energy efficient and will hold 80,000 people.
