The preparations for the 29th Latin American Congress on Foreign Trade are in the final stages. Organised by the Latin American Federation of Banks (FELABAN) and to be held in Panama on June 9th to 11th, the event will attract more than 250 banking executives interested in the latest trends in international trade, the role of financial institutions in its development and new business opportunities.

The agenda includes a focus on the new vision of international correspondent banking practices and documentary credits as well as the new regulations for Bank Payment Orders (BPO) and the prevention of fraud. Among the internationally recognized experts discussing these topics will be:

  • T.O. Lee
    Described by the US magazine L/C Views as one of the foremost specialists in Letters of Credit, currently an expert International Consultant on disputes related to Letters of Credit, Fraud and Insurance Claims in Foreign Trade and a member of the ICC’s UCP 600 Consulting Group.
  • Miguel Angel Bustamante-Morales
    Certified as an expert on Incoterms 2010 by the ICC in Paris, France, an international arbitrator on documentary credits,, former President of the Banking Practices and Techniques Commission of the ICC Mexico and a Consultant for the ICC Mexico on matters of Incoterms, documentary credits, banking guarantees collections and other means of payment. Currently a Senior Trade Adviser at Banamex / Citibank, Mexico.
  • James Otis Rodner
    Attorney at Law, graduated from the Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas with an MBA from Harvard and a founding partner of the firm Rodner, Martinez & Associates in Caracas, Venezuela, a Member of the International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris, France) and an Arbitrator at the International Arbitration Institute.
