Third Party Event

13 Mar 2018

Oman has had impressive Islamic finance growth across multiple sectors in the past years. By the end of 2016, Shariah-compliant shares worth OR3.3bn ($8.54bn) represented 21.58% of the total market capitalisation of shares listed on the Muscat Securities Market.

Sukuk outstanding of OR329.48m ($852.92m) took up 16.29% of the total market value of the fixed income market. In 2017, the sovereign issued its US dollar Sukuk, followed by the first Sukuk programme by Meethaq.

With increased participation expected, the 2018 edition of the IFN Forum Oman will build on last year’s event, which featured several groundbreaking sessions and an engaging debate. Attendees will explore a broad range of topical issues relating to Islamic finance against a backdrop of the ongoing inroads that Oman has made in the industry so far.
