The 7th Edition of the BAFM Seminar will be hosted by the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) on April 19-20, 2018 at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel, Nairobi.
This year’s theme is “Adaptive innovation as a lever for the growth and sustainable development of African financial markets”. This theme is concerned with the introduction of financial instruments, the development of new processes, the use of efficient technologies, the interaction with investors and or customers and the development of new structures for financial institutions.
As leading global economies are re-positioning themselves following global fiscal policy changes, investors too are pivoting towards emerging market opportunities; and Africa is green with prospects and has been proven capable of adapting to world-class innovations. Therefore, the financial sector has a significant role to play in delivering strong and sustainable economic growth in Africa.
Looking at the African Capital Markets, it is evident that innovation has given rise to new trends in modern products and systems whose importance has been widely recognized; such as green finance, mobile trading, policy reforms, regional integrations, and cutting-edge IT solutions among others.
These innovations continue to play a key role as a force for sustainable development, social inclusion and peace, because of their potential to generate intangible and tangible social changes. It can reduce the gap of competitiveness, and uneven knowledge gap between economies.
