World Mining & Energy Expo is linking the Latin American mining sector and the rest of the world

World Mining & Energy Expo gathers the whole mining, energy and infrastructure community. WMEEXPO unveils the latest equipment, the latest technology and the most up-to-date information from experts. The event will take place on August 14th -16th 2013 at the Miami Airport Convention Center. The Expo is one of the most significant trade shows in the industry, linking the Latin American mining markets with the rest of the world.

The exhibit hall will open from 10am to 6pm. Charlotte Gallogly, President of the World Trade Center in Miami, will be in charge of the opening remarks for the event. This will be followed by a conference about “Mining as an ally of sustainable development”, presented by Gerardo Cañas Jiménez, Ex Director of Colombian Mining Chamber and President of Colombia Global Group Mining and Business, and by Luz Helena Sarmiento, Director of the National Authority of Environmental Licenses ANLA – Colombia.

Additionally, Jorge Neher, Partner of Norton Rose Fulbright, will talk about financing of mining projects in Latin America: raising funds in adverse market conditions; and Juan Manuel Sánchez, Manager of CARBOCOQUE in Colombia, will talk about coking coal in Colombia – challenges opportunities.

The implementation in Latin America of international standards for resources and reserves reporting will be presented by Edmundo Laporte, Senior VP/Director of Mining Services ECSI, LLC – USA, while José Rafael Unda, International Consultant at Ardura S.A.S., will talk about the United Nations guiding principles and human rights.

In addition, Luis Giusti, named as the Petroleum Man of this Decade and Senior Adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, will present an outlook of the Oil & Gas Latin American Industries; and Tim Alch, Vice President & Senior Business Analyst at Behre Dolbear & Co, will present a current view of the challenges, risks and opportunities of investing in the mining industry in the Americas.

To learn about how the largest and smallest companies in the world in the energy sector should be transforming their business using big data, we will have the presence of Corrine Sandler, CEO of Fresh Intelligence Research Corp. Canada. To close the agenda, there will be a conference about mining & energy projects in Latin America – investment opportunities and financial outlook, led by Ricardo Ruiz from Ernst & Young Consultants and Carlos Mojica from http://www.paisminero.com/.
