Cartes Afrique, one of the Africa’s largest events on card technologies and payment has been, since its creation, central to the issue of the ongoing process of financial inclusion. The 8th edition of Cartes Afrique, organized in partnership with Mastercard and the national and regional switches in Africa, will be no exception and will focus on prime importance issues related to financial inclusion and the contribution of card technologies and payment innovations in this respect.
The panel sessions, keynote speeches and workshops will hover around the many ways payment can promote the integration of excluded populations into the financial channels, the increasing role of mobile financial services and prepaid services, as well as the regulatory challenges and acceptance issues.
Elsewhere, the 1200 square metre exhibition area will be a B2B platform for the banking community and card industry professionals to meet and showcase their latest innovations.
Alongside the conference, four training sessions are scheduled before and after the conferences, and will tackle issues related to EMV, fundamentals of smart cards, card risk management and marketing.
