Third Party Event

29 May 2018 - 31 May 2018

The 13th edition of the International Gold & Silver Symposium will be held at the Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Centre from May 29 to 31, 2018.

According to the US Geological Survey’s estimates, Peru owns 5% and 21% of the world’s gold and silver reserves respectively. The country is the number one producer of gold in Latin America and sixth worldwide, while ranking second regionally and, alongside others globally, for silver production.

In 2016, Peru’s gold and silver production reached 153 tonnes and 4374 tonnes respectively. The country also produces a variety of other metallic minerals, including copper, zinc, lead, iron, tin, cadmium and molybdenum. Metals account for the bulk of Peruvian exports.

Organised by the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy of Peru, a non-profit body made up of major mining and energy companies operating in the country, the 13th International Gold & Silver symposium will set out to raise awareness about the potential of Peru’s natural resources, particularly gold and silver, while also promoting new investment and business opportunities.

In addition, the event, which includes a conference and exhibition, will serve as an ideal platform for gathering information about new projects, particularly those in the region, markets, price outlook and an overall view of their influence on the world’s economy.

Oxford Business Group will be a research partner for the symposium, which is a biennial event that has already positioned itself as a key industry gathering. The 2018 symposium will build on the 2016 edition, which brought more than 800 participants from 17 countries to Lima.
