This conference is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and the Emirates Competitiveness Council. It brings together lead thinkers and practitioners from the UAE and around the world on key areas of education. We see this conference as the beginning of a dialogue towards the development of a world class education system and curricula with the best educational practices in the UAE.

As the UAE moves forward it seeks to compete with the world’s leading nations on the basis of its knowledge capital, rather than solely on its natural endowments Indeed, In order to sustain its growth and prosperity over the long-term, the UAE leadership recognizes the imperative to compete on the basis of knowledge as articulated in its Vision 2021.

It is an important step on a path to ensure that the nation builds on our deep roots as a culture of knowledge, enhance skills and capabilities of future generations to contribute to the nation’s prosperity, to compete successfully in globalized knowledge economy.

Building strong educational systems and institutions is a long-term endeavours in any country. We are committed to that path and are confident that with the foundations in place, we will actualize the vision for developing our most valuable resource—our human capacity towards ensuring the country’s future prosperity and towards being a forerunner in global knowledge economy.
